Disco Diva: Inspired by Donna Summers
I’m a huge birthday person. I’m that person who starts her birthday countdown about two months in advance and “casually” reminds all my friends and family that it’s approaching soon. I never had birthday parties as a kid, so I’ve been trying to make up for lost time for the last few years! This year, I was trying desperately to
see Beyonce when she came to Baltimore. Unfortunately that fell through, but I had the awesome backup plan of going to an amusement park instead. Obviously I was planning my birthday outfit for weeks, and I built it around one of my favorite items in my closet—brightly colored and printed 70s inspired bell-bottoms!
The pants scream for attention on their own, so I didn’t want anything else to compete with it. I paired it with a simple crew-neck crop top and subtle gold jewelry. I couldn’t resist throwing in my favorite new fringe cross-body. I love the movement!
Are you a huge birthday person like me, or do you prefer letting yours pass uneventfully? Do you think the 70s was a fashion deadzone, or do you love taking inspiration from it? Let me know if the comments section below!
Lots of love,
