Snake Me Out Tonight
Hello, 2019! We’re about halfway through January, and I’m proud of the fact I haven’t messed up what year it is once yet. If you read my last post on 2018’s fashion trends, you know animal print was my top trend of 2018. Luckily for me, it’s still going strong in 2019, which means I had time to pull out this adorable snake print dress I got a few months ago.
I know animal print can be intimidating for a lot of people, but it’s actually very easy to incorporate into your everyday wardrobe. Obviously I’m not one to shy away from a lot of prints, but anyone can work it in. Grayscale snakeskin is chic and understated if you have cool undertones. If you have warmer undertones, leopard print works as a great neutral in outfits. This dress combines the best of both worlds for me since I love snake print and it’s in a warm palette.
Speaking of 2019 and trends, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about my fashion resolutions for the year. Last year, my goal was to only buy items that were both cute AND comfortable. Even if I loved a dress or a pair of shoes, if I knew I would be fidgeting in it, I didn’t let myself buy them. It’s honestly worked out great for me! I’ve had to pass on a lot of cute things, but I find I’m much more confident in what I wear. These black pumps were so comfortable that I didn’t even half to break them in. Nothing looks and feels more chic than properly fitted clothes!
I like to think this outfit was a culmination of all I learned in 2018. This dress is comfortable, warm, and hugs the body just right while still being stylish. I could dance in these pumps all night. And Lord knows I love a bag that isn’t so big it makes my back hurt. The confidence that comfort brings shines through!
